The City's Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) offers competitive fixed rate loans of up to $75,000 to homeowners interested in improving the energy and water efficiency of their homes.

On average, HELP participants are saving $560 per year and using 25-30% less energy, while at the same time significantly improving household comfort.

To qualify:

  • you must own a detached, semi-detached, or row house in Toronto
  • your City property tax and utility accounts must be in good standing
  • you must obtain the consent of your mortgage lender, if applicable

Eligible improvements for HEATING & COOLING include:

  • High-efficiency furnaces / boilers / air conditioners
  • Air source heat pumps
  • High-efficiency water heaters
  • Geothermal systems

  • Book a home energy audit to identify energy ef ciency opportunities
  • Sign the loan agreement
  • Hire the contractor of your choice and complete your renovations
